Violette Joy (Carley) Shefferd, 82, of Lincoln, NE passed away peacefully on December 7, 2022. She was born on August 5, 1940 in Clay Center, Nebraska. Violette was born to Raymond and Bertha (Vicary) Carley. She grew up in the Clay Center and York area and graduated from York High School. Violette met Carl Shefferd on a blind date on April 1st, 1958 and they were married September 24, 1958. As an adult, she moved to Lincoln, NE and raised her family. She worked for 23 years in the Labor/Delivery area at Lincoln General Hospital and Bryan Hospital. After she left Bryan Hospital, she spent several years in Home Health Care in Lincoln Violette isceded in death by her husband, Carldaughter Harriett, both of her parents and two brothers and two sisters. Survivors include her son, Rick (Tami) Shefferd of Malcolm NEdaughter Lynette (Bill) Burton of Lincoln NEdaughter Tammy (Les) Rand of Norman, Oklahoma. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren Memorial service is at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 14th at Capitol City Christian Church, 7800 Holdrege St., Lincoln, NE. /
