Vernon D. Kuhn, passed away Friday, April 9, 2021, at the Monarch House surrounded by his loving family.He was 65 years old.Born May 14, 1955 to Vernon and Sharon (Nevin) Kuhn.He married Debbie Barnett Kuhn in 1980 in Lincoln.Vern attended Lincoln Northeast High School and went to work as an electrician for Dovel Electric after graduation in 1973.He later accepted a position as an electrician at UNL where he worked for 31 years.Vern retired in 2010 after the death of his son. Vern had a great passion for fishing and hunting with his dad and friends.He spent time in Canada and Snake River Falls fishing when ever he had time.He enjoyed spending time outside and being in the wilderness. Vern is survived by Debbie, daughters, Kaycee, of Davidson, NC. and Sonya Brakeman, of Lincolnsister, Jacki (Paul) Synhorst and their children, Katelynn (Curtis) Danek, Isabella, and Taylor (Stephanie) Synhorststep-mother, Joan Kuhn, of Waxahachie, TX.and threecious grandchildren, Savana Brakeman, of Lincoln, Hailee Daarud, Gretna and Kaylynn Gibbs, of Davidson, NC. Vern wasceded in death by his parents, Vern and Sharon Kuhn and his son, Nathan. A memorial service will be held Friday, April 16 at 1:00 pm at Metcalf Funeral Home.Due to COVID the ceremony will be for family members and close friends.Vern will be buried at Wyuka Cemetery next to his son in a private ceremony.
