Petr Vetsalo, age 71, left this world peacefully, on October 12, 2020 in Lincoln, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Petr was born on August 24, 1949 in the village of Petrovka, Ukraine to Fedosiy and Uliyana (Shapoval) Vetsalo. He was child number 5 out of 10. Petr served in the Military from 1969-1971, and in 1973 he then became caretaker to an elderly paralyzed man for several years in Kherson, Ukraine. Petr was baptized and received the Holy Spirit in 1974, married Nadezhda Kulakova in 1975 and in 1984 God blessed thwith a daughter, Inna. In 1996 Petr, Nadezhda and Inna moved to America where soon after, Inna married. Petr was a loving and tenderhearted husband, father and grandfather. He loved to play with his grandchildren and was always ready to carry the babies around. He loved to work with his hands, be around people and always gave 100% to everything he did. Petr faced many hardships in the last 10 years of his life, from losing his vision in 2010 to having kidney failure in 2014 and being put on dialysis multiple times a week but no matter what the circumstance Petr never let his faith in the Lord or his joy for life be taken away. We find peace in knowing he is no longer suffering and is able to see all of his grandchildren, some of thfor the very first time. He is loved and missed by many. Petr is survived by his loving wife, Nadezhda, daughter, Inna, son in law, Ivan grandchildren, Jessica, Alina, Simeon, Samuel, Peter, David, and Maggiealong with brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and many more loved ones Visitation will be 6:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at House of Prayer 1333 Morton Street, Lincoln, Ne Funeral Service 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 15, 2020 at House of Prayer Memorials may be given to the family for future designation
