April 14, 1936 – May 31, 2018 Neal Joseph Sandoz passed away Thursday, May 31, 2018, in Lincoln at the age of 82. He grew up in Center and moved to Lincoln to attend the University of Nebraska. Neal was an avid Husker fan and attended football games home and away. He spent his life in the insurance and corrections industry.
In retirement, Neal was active with Aging Partners counseling seniors with health insurance questions. He loved traveling the country with Dorothy, his wife of 59 years, and visiting his children and grandchildren in Minnesota and Iowa. Neal was a lifelong learner and was dedicated to improving himself and the world around him.
Neal is survived by his wife Dorothy, sister Rita Murry, his children: Theresa (Curt) Brake, Dave (Kathy) Sandoz and Don (Billie) Sandoz and seven grandchildren.
There will be a celebration of life with a visitation and rosary at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 7, at St. Marys Catholic Church, 1420 K St, Lincoln. The funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Marys followed by a luncheon immediately after the service.
