Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day.  Unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed and very dear.

 Obituary Post Date:

Mary Margaret Tomes Busch (Marge), of Colorado, April 26, 1926-September 12, 2023

Mary Margaret Tomes Busch (Marge) passed away peacefully on September 12, 2023, at the age of 97.

A devout Catholic, she had a special relationship with God, her family and countless others. Her long life is celebrated by her children, step-children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many friends. Marge raised her children in Shreveport, Louisiana where she assisted John Franks who was prominent in the oil and gas industry, as well as thoroughbred horse racing. While in Shreveport, she met her husband, Paul E. Busch, who preceded her in death, and moved to Leawood, Kansas where she lived until 2015. She was intimately involved with the Lioness organization and annual reunions for the WWII 703rd Engineer Petroleum Unit, of which Paul was a part. In 2015, Marge chose to move to Colorado to be close to some of her children and grandchildren. Although a resident of Colorado, she made sure everyone who crossed her path knew what an avid Kansas City sports fan she was. She cheered the Royals and Chiefs on until her last breath.

A special mass will be held at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic church on Saturday, October 7th at 10:00 AM.

There will be a rosary in the church prior to the mass, at 9:30 AM.

A luncheon at Pivo’s Tavern will follow the burial.

In lieu of flowers, donations for her headstone will be accepted at the church
