Kenneth “Ken” Catlin was born in Kearney, NE on May 13, 1948 to Harley and Laura Catlin. He grew up in Gibbon, NE and graduated from Gibbon High School. He worked for Josten-Wilbert Burial Vault Company before enlisting in the Navy on January 9, 1969. He attended Basic Hospital Corps School in San Diego, Field Medical School at Camp Pendleton and Operating Room Technician School at Oak Knoll Naval Hospital. During his service, he was stationed in San Diego, Marine Air Station in Santa Ana, Camp Pendleton and Oak Knoll Naval Base in Oakland. Following his discharge on December 1, 1972, he worked as a paramedic for Adams County Sheriff and Adams County Ambulance. He was a member of the committee that started the Critical Stress Incident Debriefing Team in Nebraska for EMS and law enforcement. Ken finished his career with Nebraska Department of Corrections.
Ken married Rita Albin on June 24, 1966. They were blessed with 2 children, Jolene and Paul. On December 30, 1976, he married Jeanette Moritz and they were blessed with a daughter, Amy.
Ken was proceeded in death by his wife, Jeanette, his brothers, Jim and Ron, sisters, Lois and Donna and his parents.
He is survived by his daughter’s, Jolene Lee (Steve Hess) and Amy Parker (Adam), son, Paul Catlin (Stacey Boss), sister, Linda Johnson (Curt), grandchildren, Kenny (Monica), Trevor, Emma, Elle (Carson), Kaitlyn, AJ (Haley), Payton and Parker. Great grandchildren, Ayden, Nova and Noah, honorary grandson, Tavlin and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial Service will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2026 at Mercy City Church, 6224 Logan Ave, Lincoln, NE. . Family encourages you to wear husker clothing or red.
Inurnment at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery, Lincoln, NE.

I worked with Ken in NDOC and have nothing but kind words to say about him. Always seemed calm and this helped keeping inmates the same. He was a good man and I’m sorry to see him go. My condolences to his family.
Ken was the most kind and generous man our families became so very close in th 80s and 90s Ken was one of my husband Doug Osler’s dearest friends.
