Karl Wayne Duhrkopf, 60, of Lincoln, NE, January 11, 1963 – March 24, 2023.

 

Karl Wayne Duhrkopf, 60, of Lincoln, NE passed away March 24, 2023. He was born January 11, 1963 in Lincoln, to Karl and Bethel (Brown- Philippi) Duhrkopf.

 

Karl was a proud stay at home dad. He loved fishing, cooking (especially BBQ), going on family walks; which sometimes included their beloved dog and cat, bike rides with his daughter, and listening to classic rock ‘n roll music. Karl was the neighborhood fixer upper, always lending a hand to anyone and everyone that needed help. He was the most determined, selfless, patient, kind, trustworthy, loyal, every now and then stubborn, kind of man. He was a dedicated and loving husband, son, father, uncle and friend.

 

He is survived by his wife, Cynthia (Callaway) Duhrkopf; daughter, Savannah Duhrkopf and future son-in-law, Devin Roper, all of Lincoln, NE; sons, Thomas Hill, of OR, Patrick Callaway, of Lincoln, NE; brothers, David Duhrkopf, of MI, Ronnie Duhrkopf, of Ashland, NE; nephews, David Smith Jr, Jason Barnes, both of KS, Kyle Duhrkopf, of MI, Joseph Schlenz, of Norfolk, NE; niece, Heather (Serr) Newmann, of Columbus, NE; brothers-in-law, Keith Callaway, of TX, Mike Schlenz, of Norfolk, NE; and sister-in-law, Renee Callaway, of Lincoln, NE.

 

Preceded in death by his parents, Karl and Bethel, mother-in-law, Nancy Greer, grandparents, daughter, Julia Ann Kuil, and friends, Greg Bouchard and Jeff Hansen.

 

Memorials to family for future designation.

 

Memorial Service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 1, 2023 at Metcalf Funeral Home Chapel, 245 N. 27th Street, Lincoln, NE.
