John Munstermann, 82, born September 24, 1943, in Coffeyville, KS, passed January 17, 2026, at home surrounded by family in Lincoln, NE. John was an avid lover of Harley Davidsons; everything about Colorado, Denver football, Ozzy and Pink Floyd. John belonged to two bowling leagues, one at Madsen’s and one at Sun Valley. You could often find him with his Harley and a Mountain Dew Zero with an ornery grin; John had a way of befriending strangers.

John is survived by his wife Shelley Munstermann of 40 years; brother Earl Meyers; brother-in-laws, John Cabrales, Mark (Laurie) Cabrales; sons Darren Munstermann, Jay (Lisa) Munstermann, Trinity (Jill) Jones, Jesse (Paige) Munstermann; daughter Robin (Tom) Linsenmeyer. John 12 grandchildren and 8 great- grandchildren. John had a lifelong friend of 70 years that he considered a brother John Baete. John is preceded in death by parents Alfred and Velma Munstermann, brothers Don Munstermann and Chuck Stroul, mother-in-law Eva Cabrales, father-in-law Alex Cabrales, and daughter Tiffany Jones.

    The world has lost an amazing man and I have lost my best friend and I am heartbroken but at least I know he is no longer in pain. My love goes out to his wife Shelly and pray she stays strong. God bless you Shelly . We will miss him till the end of our lives.
