Eva Marie (DeWispelare) Kadavy was born in David City, NE and grew up on a farm near Octavia, Nebraska. She had three brothers Gerald, Daniel, and Edward DeWispelare. Eva attended the Marietta school in Bellwood, NE and her family attended church at Presentation Parish. Eva graduated from David City Aquinas Highschool in 1963.
After high school, Eva moved to Omaha and worked as a secretary at mutual of Omaha.
Eva enjoyed her time in Omaha, living with roommates in mid-town and working nearby. While living in Omaha, she met Robert Kadavy at a dance at the Starlight Ballroom.
Robert grew up on a farm near Weston, NE. He graduated from St John’s high school, served in the US Army, and farmed. Robert was working in Elkhorn, NE when he met Eva.
Eva and Robert were married in November of 1966, and moved from Omaha to Wahoo. While living in Wahoo, Eva and Robert welcomed a daughter, Sharon into their family. They moved to Fremont in 1970 where their son Dale was born in 1971 and daughter Lori was born in 1975.
While living in Fremont, Eva and Robert dedicated themselves to faith and family, working and raising their children. Eva and Robert attended St Patrick’s parish in Fremont and their kids graduated from Fremont Bergan High School.
Eva’s daughters Sharon and Lori graduated from college, married and now live in Lincoln, NE. Their son Dale graduated college, married and now lives in Overland Park, KS.
Eva and Robert were proud grandparents. They loved visits from their children’s families. They spoiled their grandchildren with treats, spent time with them at the park and walking to the nearby donut shop. They also enjoyed visiting their kids’ families in Lincoln, and Overland Park, attending school and other activities.
Robert passed away in 2012, and Eva continued to maintain their family home in Fremont, attending church, and hosting kids and grandkids during holidays and other times.
Eva moved to Lincoln in 2020 living close to her daughters. She enjoyed attending school functions with her grandkids. She also spent time with her son and his family in Kansas.
Eva worked tirelessly for her family, supporting their education and providing an example of generosity and faith. Eva maintained her sharp sense of humor through many good and difficult times.
Her family will miss her table of treats, good humor, long conversations, and selfless support.
