emDrake Lee Oltman, 55, of Lincoln, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2021 at home with his family by his side. He was born August 21, 1966 in Beatrice, NE, to Dennis and Judith (Schmale) Oltman.Drake graduated Beatrice High School in 1985 while also working full time. He married in 1989 to his high school sweetheart, Susan (Balvin). Drake worked for Caterpillar as a Technician/Welder/Painter for 32 years, and was the maintenance/handy-man at his wifersquo s childcare center (Coddington Learning Center) for 21 years, as well. He enjoyed camping, boating, and fishing. He was a man of few words and had an abundance of great knowledge. Drake was truly a self-taught jack-of-all-trades. He was a family man, but also enjoyed his privacy. He was someone you could always count on. From racing stock cars at Beatrice Speedway, like his father Dennis did, to helping his sons race Motocross and building a turbo-charged drag truck. Drake always had a mechanically inclined competitive spirit. He was also never without a project, his latest being to restore his 1923 Ford T Bucket.Drake took every treatment head on and fought his cancer fearlessly.He is survived by his wife, Susan Oltmansons, Shane Oltman and Jake Oltman, all of Lincoln, NEsister, Anita Boosinger and familybrother, David (Tammy) Oltman and family all of Beatrice, NEPreceded in death by his parents, Dennis Oltman and Judith (Vernon) Reedy.Per Drakersquo s request, there will be no service, although a future celebration of life is possible.
