Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day.  Unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed and very dear.

 Obituary Post Date:

Dennis Lee Taylor passed away peacefully on August 27th, 2024, in Lincoln, Nebraska, at the age of 71. Born on December 9th, 1952, in Topeka, Kansas, Dennis was the son of Emmett and Patricia (Jenks) Taylor.

Dennis married Dorothy (Perkins) Molczyk in 1972, and together they had two sons, Justus and Jamal Taylor. Dennis met the love of his life, Rebecca Bramer, in 1990. They spent 34 years together, sharing a deep bond and mutual love that enriched both their lives.

A gifted musician, Dennis was proficient in multiple instruments, with a special affinity for the acoustic guitar and bass guitar. His musical journey saw him performing with various bands across the country. Locally, his talent graced venues such as The Speakeasy and The Oven in Lincoln, and The Jaipur in Omaha. Dennis’s passion for music culminated in the release of his album of original songs, “Dayspring”. Among his many cherished memories, one most memorable was in 1973 when he had the honor of opening for Fleetwood Mac at Pershing Auditorium in Lincoln, Nebraska—a moment that highlighted his lifelong dedication to his craft.

Dennis’s legacy lives on through his partner, Rebecca Bramer; his sons, Justus (Vicki) Taylor and Jamal (Yuanzi) Taylor; Rebecca’s son Julian Hall, and five grandchildren, Isaac, Samuel, Corinne, Vivian and Camden. He is also survived by siblings Robert Taylor, Deborah Scott, Linda Clark, and Serina Lake, and cousins Susan Gilbert and Kim Weidner.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Emmett and Patricia Taylor, and brothers, Ronald and Donald Taylor.

A Memorial Open House for family and friends will be held on Friday, October 11th from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Antelope Park Enclosed Shelter, 1650 Memorial Drive in Lincoln.
