Bonnie A. Borden, 75, of Lincoln, passed away June 20, 2019, born on March 12, 1944, in Toledo, Ohio, adopted by Harry and Marguerite (Hesse) Bittner. She participated in two Girl Scout Troops in school. Graduated Sylvania Ohio High School in 1962, attended Defiance College in Defiance, Ohio from 1963-1964, and Graduated at St. Vincent Hospital School of Nursing, in Toledo, Ohio in 1967. She assisted in medical helicopter transporting babies for care. Bonnie moved to Phoenix, AZ using her nursing skills. Her outreach in Episcopal Community Services included establishing medical equipment loan facility and telephone call wellness program. She started an ecumenical camp for persons ldquo 60 more of lessrdquoinscott, AZ which exists today- 30 years later! In 1984 she graduated from Arizona Rio Salado Community College- Phi Theta Kappa with a degree in Chemical Dependency using this as a counselor. Bonnie was strong in her faith. She served her church as an Oblate in the Benedictine Order, was a lay Eucharistic Minister, served on altar guild, acolyte trainer, participated in Cursillo and Kyrios. She shared her music talents with trumpet, choral, and hand chimes. In Colorado Springs she worked at Benet Hill Monastery in the infirmary- a joy for her and the Sisters. Bonnie Especially loved children, the older generation and pets. She cared and helped others. She enjoyed sports, especially Detroit Tigers, Arizona Diamondbacks, and Denver Broncos. Memorial Service to be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 26, 2019, at The Church of the Holy Trinity Episcopal, 6001 lsquo ArsquoStreet, Lincoln ,NE 68510 Memorial in lieu of flowers, to the Church.
