Angela Kay Zimmerman, 77, of Lincoln, NE, April 1, 1946-August 10, 2023.


Angela Kay Zimmerman, 77, of Lincoln, NE, passed away August 10, 2023. She was born April 1, 1946 in Jansen, NE to John C. Zimmerman and Helene A. (Knispel) Zimmerman.


Angela grew up being spoiled by her 2 older sisters, Harriet and Shirley since she was 12 years younger. Her and her parents moved to Lincoln and she graduated from Northeast High School in 1964. She then attended the University of Nebraska for Arts. Angela was a very talented artist.


She was also into crafts and scrapbooking. She supported every craft store in Lincoln. She was very proud of all her craft machines and materials. Angela would make the rounds to all the print shops in Lincoln to collect paper, scratch pads and even old Christmas Card Sample books for her projects or just to have.


Angela worked as a dishwasher at Bryan Hospital, Miller & Paine Cafeteria, Cornhusker Hotel and Southeast Community College.


She was well known to many people downtown since she went to the farmers market faithfully every Saturday morning and traveled by bus and frequently walked downtown.


Angela will leave a hole in the hearts of family and friends she leaves behind, but we know she is with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and is reuniting with loved ones she has missed. 


Angela is survived by 4 nieces and 1 nephew, Cindy (Rick) Paulus, of Aubrey TX, Janelle (Tom) Anderson, Kimberly Epp, Nancy Worster, and Mark Ray, all of Lincoln, NE; 13 great nieces and nephews and several great great nieces and nephews.


Preceded in death by her parents, John and Helene, sisters, Harriet Bates and Shirley Epp, nephew, James Ray, and Niece, Lauri Muehlhausen.


Celebration of Life will be held 3:30 p.m. Friday, August 25, 2023 at Ambassador Health of Lincoln, 4405 Normal Blvd, Lincoln, NE.
