Lucy Jayne Russell died on Feb.16th after succumbing to lung cancer. She was born to Ray and Ruth Prouty on Oct.5th 1939 in Rock Rapids, IA. She worked at the City/County courthouse, the ARC, Lincoln Action Program and retired from Voices of Hope. After retiring, her dream of owning a bookstore came true when she opened Books & Baskets. Lucy was funny and generous and never complained even as her health declined. She loved her family, books, plants, animals, chocolate, donuts and coffee.ceded in death by her parents and son, Craig Russell. She is survived by brother Ken Prouty, daughter Tina Russell, grandsons Jordon Russell, Dylan Spencer and Keenen Russell, caregiver Victoria Randall and cat Toto. Services at 2pm on March 10th at College View Church 4801scott in Lincoln.
