Kent David Wurster, 64, of Lincoln, November 15, 1956-February 3, 2021

Kent David Wurster, 64, of Lincoln, passed away on February 3, 2021 after complications from surgery. He was born to David and Betty Wurster, of Lincoln, on November 15, 1956. He was raised in Lincoln graduating from Lincoln High. He then attended Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska, where he received a degree in education. He taught and coached at several school districts around the state until his retirement in 2017.

Kent was a devoted father and husband, as well as, an avid sports fan. He rarely missed any event in his children’s lives, as he loved watching them grow up playing various sports in and around Lincoln. Kent was at his happiest coaching and playing volleyball in his younger days or watching his children play volleyball or baseball in his older days. He was an avid reader and trivia buff who loved to quiz anyone near him on a wide range of topics.

He is survived by his loving wife, Julie; son, Bret (Keera) Wurster, and soon to be grandchild; daughters, Aly, Kylee; brother, Bruce (Janice) Wurster, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and dog, Aggie.

Due to current Covid-19 restrictions, a private family celebration of life will be held at Metcalf Funeral Home, on Tuesday, February 9, 2021. Following the celebration of life, all friends are invited to gather with the family 5:00 pm Tuesday February 9th, at Spikes Beach Bar, 2300 Judson St, Lincoln, NE.
