John Paul “JJ” Jackson passed away on April 14th, 2017. Born February 14th, 1935 to Paul and Opal (Ilkenhons) Jackson in Lincoln, NE.

John was a Burlington Northern electrician foreman in the diesel shop for 36 years. He enjoyed sports especially softball and golf, attending his grandchildren’s functions and attending his son’s bluegrass shows. He was inducted into the Nebraska Softball Hall of Fame in 1990. 

John is survived by his three children, Curtis Jackson, Ashland, NE, Alan Jackson, Lincoln, NE and Paula (Dale) Oxenhardt, Lincoln, NE, grandchildren Sean, Dillon, Megan, Madison, great grandchildren; Ava, Hailey, and Max.

He is preceded in death by his parents. 

 Memorial service will be Friday 4-21-17 at 2:00 PM at Metcalf Funeral Home 245 N. 27th street. 

 Visitation will be one hour prior to service.
