Jessie Jeannette Nickeson, 99, died September 24, 2017 at her home in Savannah Pines in Lincoln. Born on September 5, 1918 in Leshara, NE to Jesse Alfred Sutton and Marjorie Elizabeth Esty, a direct descendant of Mary Towne Esty of Salem, Massachusetts.
Jessie married Paul Nickeson in Lincoln and had a son, Bruce, and two daughters, Barbara and Linda. Jessie and Paul loved to dance, attending several ballrooms around Lincoln, then took up square dancing. Jessie moved to southern California where she lived for many years. She was active with the San Diego Parasol Strutters dance group known for their fringed dresses, feather boas, parasols and lively dance steps; and the uniformed senior patrol checking on the well-being of the elderly enabling them to continue living at home, Jessie has traded her walker for a red fringed dress and a feather boa.
