Edward Lewandowski

Edward M. Lewandowski, 81, of Lincoln, NE, passed away May 13, 2018 of natural causes. Ed was born September 3, 1936 to Paul and Mary (Woskowiak) Lewandowski in Broken Bow, NE.

Dad has 7 brothers, Alfred, Herbert, Leonard, Melvin, Paul, Steve and Richard.  Richard is still living in Michigan. Dad has 2 sons, Edward A., Lincoln, NE and Joseph P., Kansas City, MO.

Dad was raised in Mitchell, NE.  As a young man Dad delivered papers for Scottsbluff Daily Star-Herald and Omaha World Herald, delivering over 200 papers daily on his bike in Mitchell and was given the award as King Carrier for his dedication by the Inland Daily Press Association!  He also enjoyed duck hunting and fishing with nephew, Alfred Jr. (Juny) all around Mitchell. 

As a sophomore in high school dad ran track class “B” for the Mitchell Tigers and went to the State Track Meet in Lincoln where his team won the gold for the 1 mile relay in 1952.

After moving to Lincoln, dad became a carpenter for various home Builders and specialized in custom doors and trim work.  Dad loved fishing and was out every Sunday morning, with or without Ed and Joe, and was also a master angler catching big bass.  He also loved his garden, growing too much of everything he could plant.  Asparagus, tomatoes, cucumbers, horseradish, squash, everything you could think of he grew.  Dad also loved his plants and flowers that covered his yard and inside his house.  Dad we miss you so much!  Love Ed and Joe!
